This Cookie Policy explains how Ride-Share uses cookies and similar technologies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They help to provide features and to improve the user experience.

Which storage technologies do we use?

We mainly use functional technologies so that the website works correctly. In addition to cookies, we use your browser's storage (localStorage and sessionStorage):

• Login: login status and profile/access tokens so that you stay logged in, plus, briefly after you log out, a flag for the confirmation message.
• Settings: your cookie consent, the language you last used and – if you picked one yourself – the light or dark theme.
• Real time: a Socket.io connection for chat and notifications.

When paying, third-party services (e.g. Stripe) may also set their own cookies. Map services (OpenStreetMap) are embedded for location and route searches. For audience measurement we use Umami Analytics – privacy-friendly web statistics that work without cookies and do not store any personal data.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser at any time. Please note that this may limit certain features of the website.
